Eric will showcase different mashbill styles that are produced at Midleton distillery. A 100% rye produced with column stills, a 100% malt produced in Midleton’s Microdistillery, and a Jameson Single Pot Still style that starts with malted barley and unmalted barley, and finishes with maturation in five separate cask types that showcases the exciting repertoire of casks available to the distillers and blenders in Midleton.
Eric Ryan is a Distiller at Irish Distillers’ Midleton Distillery. An integral part of the innovation team that oversee the quality of distillates and mature whiskeys within an extensive Irish Whiskey portfolio, he works closely with the distilling, blending, warehousing, and marketing teams, and has special responsibility for cask maturation and whiskey innovation.
Eric joined Irish Distillers in 2010 as a distilling operative and since then has worked in various roles within the distillery. He graduated with an MSc in Brewing and Distilling, with distinction, from Edinburgh's Heriot Watt University, receiving the 2013 University Prize for outstanding merit in independent learning.
