Discover the story behind Ballymaloe Grainstore, a versatile venue nestled on the grounds of Ballymaloe House Hotel. Founded by Rory Allen, son of Myrtle & Ivan Allen, this space blends his love for farming with a passion for music. Inspired by intimate music gatherings in Ballymaloe House Hotel's drawing room, he envisioned a dedicated venue for memorable events.

Today, run by Bree Allen, the Grainstore is a bustling events space and one of East Cork's most vibrant cultural hubs. From intimate concerts, theatre and yoga retreats to pop-up dinners, tattoo conventions and festivals, this hidden gem seamlessly blends old-world charm with modern convenience.

We are renowned for the flexibility of our space, seamlessly combining countryside charm with versatile layouts and seasonal, farm-to-table catering options.

Getting Here & Parking

Plenty of space available right on the estate grounds. We’re on a real farm, so November rain can mean a bit of damp grass or mud in the car park. Swap the white trainers for something sensible for the short walk in! The Fairground itself is mud-free.

Free Shuttle Bus

We run a free shuttle bus service all weekend long, linking the Craft Fair with Midleton Train Station, Ballycotton and handy stops along the route. (Keep an eye out—we’ll share the full bus timetable closer to the event!)
