THE STORY

Discover the story behind Ballymaloe Grainstore, a versatile venue nestled on the grounds of Ballymaloe House Hotel. Founded by Rory, son of Myrtle & Ivan Allen, this space blends his love for farming with his passion for music. With son Darren managing the farm, Rory dedicated his time to music, hosting vibrant music weeks in Ballymaloe's drawing room. Inspired by these gatherings, he envisioned a dedicated venue for weddings, venues for festivals, intimate concerts, corporate events, and special occasions.

A hidden gem where old-world charm meets modern convenience, making it perfect for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations.

historical farm building

Preserving the authenticity of the original 17th-century farmyard structure was paramount to Rory during the transformation of The Grainstore. Collaborating closely with architect Jilly Ferrera, they meticulously converted the space, once utilized for storing wheat and farm equipment, into the versatile venue it stands as today.

Since its renovation in 2010, The Grainstore has been a distinguished host to a diverse array of events, spanning from weddings and festivals to craft fairs. Notably, it welcomed esteemed guests, including President Bill Clinton, during The Worldwide Ireland Funds Conference in 2012.
