My debut collection is based on a few things that remind me of the festive season; red lowboy candles lighting in lace-lined windowsills, clinking Irish coffee glasses, the smell of pears pouching and my grannies star-shaped Christmas tree-topper. Each design is based off of two lino prints, scanned and layered to look like a blanket as a nod to our rich textile heritage. These are then framed in custom designs, for example a robin photographed by my mum in Achill and a cottage in neighbouring Lahinch filmed by my fiancé. These are then printed onto A6 cards (14.8cm x 10.5 cm when folded) by The Factory in Birr, Co. Offaly. Sustainably printed with the most environmentally friendly inks/toners available and produced with their self-generated green energy. The cards can be bought separately for €3 or a pack of 6 with 6 different designs for €12. The idea being that the receiver can recycle their card into a gift tag if they wish. I will also be selling pre-cut gift tags at the Ballymaloe Craft Fair both weekends (14-16th & 21st-23rd Nov, 9.30am-5pm), for €2 with complimentary gift wrapping on any gift bought at the fair.
