Hanna's work is rooted in nature and place. Even though born in Belgium, she now lives in Tipperary, on a small farm where they grow food and willow for her work.
Hanna has been largely self-taught and has been making first baskets and now also sculptural work for more than 20 years. Her work is full of energy and movement and is highly technical and skilled.
She has been part of Craft exhibitions all over Ireland since 2016 and has had work acquired by the Office of Public Works. Hanna is also a prolific teacher. She runs regular in person workshops and she runs an online basketmaking apprenticeship program to keep the skills and craft of basket making alive and thriving for generations to come.
