Bridget Timoney is a studio potter based in the Kilkenny countryside. She makes functional pieces and one-off decorative pieces. The making processes and techniques of pottery have always been a source of inspiration for me, throwing and slip decoration in particular. Using a combination of traditional decorating techniques, sgraffito, inlay and paper resist, I create elegant and energetic contemporary surface decorations. I embrace the natural imperfections and qualities of the materials and decorating techniques, adding individual character to the pots. Each piece is intentionally decorated slightly differently so that it is one of a kind.
