Sónua is an Irish smart home fragrance brand based in Kinsale, Co. Cork. Created from a need for a safer scented candle, Sónua is the world's first scented app-controlled LED candle — a real wax exterior with a rechargeable battery and refillable scent capsules, giving the warmth and scent of real candle with the naked-flame risk. The product holds protected IP.

We offer fragrance scent capsules as well as essential oil based refill options that we create in-house. Founded by Laura Lyons, a parent who wanted the atmosphere of a real scented candle without the safety worry of an open flame around young children, Sónua blends craft, technology and Irish design.

Sónua has been selected for the Kilkenny Design Makers Academy, exhibited at Showcase Ireland (securing stockists including Meadows & Byrne), and received national media coverage on RTÉ Radio One, Cork's 96FM, the Irish Independent and Irish Examiner.

At Ballymaloe, Sónua offers a distinctive, luxury-positioned home fragrance piece — technology-led craft rather differing from a conventional candle.
