Deirdre Kelly Art

Deirdre Kelly Art

Deirdre Kelly is a visual artist originally from West Waterford, now based in Ballycotton, with a deep-rooted passion for the natural world. She creates work that celebrates the richness of Ireland’s wildlife through oil paintings, detailed drawings, and linocut printmaking—a hand-carving process where designs are cut into linoleum, inked, and pressed to produce bold artworks that honour traditional craftsmanship while addressing contemporary concerns. Sustainability is central to Deirdre’s practice. Her work fosters a deeper appreciation for Ireland’s biodiversity and gently invites viewers to consider their role in protecting it. Deirdre sells original pieces and limited-edition prints both online and at local art and craft markets, where her linocut prints are especially popular for their handcrafted quality and distinctive aesthetic. In addition to her nature-focused work, Deirdre explores themes of human connection through linocut prints of hands, evoking care, empathy, and community. Across all her work, she invites viewers to connect more deeply with the natural environment, and with one another, encouraging a greater sense of appreciation and responsibility for the world around us.
