Dandelion Yoga  

A fun, dynamic, flow yoga class in the Walled Garden, based around snycing the breath and movement together. In keeping with the May Fair vibe, we will connect breath and movement to music, so you can access a flow state where your worries melt away.

Grainne holds classes in the Grainstore weekly on a Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. For a taste of one of her fabulous classes join Grainne in the Walled Garden.

A Cacao Ceremony & Guided Meditation with Oksana

Join Oksana in the Walled Garden on Sunday morning for a Cacao Ceremony and guided meditation. Ceremonial Cacao has both health and spiritual benefits. Cacao helps us to reconnect with our inner self, helps to harness out creative energy and aids us in opening the heart creating focus and awareness.

Beginners Core Pilates with Shirley  

Shirley of Core Pilates Cork is another of our weekly instructors at the Grainstore. Shirley is delivering a 2 hour pilates workshop for beginners as an introduction/taster to the pilates method of movement.  The workshop will teach the basic principles of pilates with the emphasis for the workshop being that of relaxation . A mindfulness meditation session will take place at the end of the workshop. Shirley is a STOTT Pilates Certified Pilates Instructor and is also certified in Injuries & Special Population Pilates  and Pre & Post natal Pilates.

Capoeira Cork

Capoeira is a wonderful Afro- Brazilian martial art dance form and Capoeira Cork is Ireland's premiere Capoeira school. Their aim is to grow this incredible art form in Ireland by making it more easily accessible to everyone! Capoeira can look really complex and intimidating from the outside, but they have developed a method to teach people of all fitness and skill levels, in a fun, inviting way! At the May Fair Capoeira Cork will lead you through a short introductory class, where you'll learn new skills, and some of the basic movements of Capoeira. Afterwards, they'll play some live music and do a little demonstration of how to actually "play" Capoeira.

Skipping with Sabrina

Get your heart pumping in this fun- filled energetic skipping session with Sabrina. Learn some cool tricks and maybe even fancy footwork and enjoy the fresh air and a fun group workout in the beautiful Walled Garden!

Intro to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with T45

This 1 hour interactive workshop is designed to get you moving, smiling and, most importantly, leave you with a thorough introduction to the martial art Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
In this workshop, we will cover some of the core concepts, techniques and movements that lay the foundation for the rest of your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills. This is achieved by our instructors Ciaran Brohan (Black Belt) and Laura de Paor (Purple Belt) demonstrating some specific beginner-friendly movements, followed by getting you moving and trying out your newly-acquired skills yourself!

By the end of this workshop, our aim is that you will have a basic understanding of what Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is, as well as be able to execute some basic movements and techniques. This workshop is suitable for anyone age 13+! We do ask you to inform one of our instructors of any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions in order for us to tailor techniques to these.

Practical Self Defense & Empowerment Workshop with T45 JiuJitsu

This workshop is designed to develop awareness and understanding of what self defense is, what it IS NOT, and how to apply this knowledge theoretically and practically to limit your risk when faced with a threatening situation/opponent.
The practical techniques taught are Jiu-Jitsu based self defense, a martial art that was specifically developed to use leverage, weight distribution and technique to overcome and control a larger/stronger opponent.
Through these practical movements and techniques, the workshop also helps participants recognise the strength and capabilities of both their bodies and minds, leaving a lasting sense of empowerment!

This course is suitable for anyone aged 13+! We do ask you to inform one of our instructors of any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions in order for us to tailor techniques to these.

Sound Bath with Shama

Join Shama in the Walled Garden Saturday for an immersion in beautiful sounds and vibrations that are healing for your body, mind and spirit.  A Sound Bath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience which can take you on a journey of deep relaxation, healing and self discovery. You will experience the healing power of Tibetan Singing & Crystal Bowls, Gongs, Shamanic Drums, Koshi chimes and many more. The healing frequencies and vibrations will wash away all your stress, tension, and cares. All you have to do is lie there and allow the healing sounds and vibrations to wash over you. What better way to relax before a delicious lunch at May Fair.

Nature Mandala Workshop with Nicola

Beginning with an introduction to one another and a grounding exercise that will quieten the mind and deepen our connection to Earth, Nicola will lead you on a walking meditation and forage materials opening up to the magic and abundance of nature.

Setting an intention both personally and as a whole we will begin from the centre out, arranging leaves, flowers, twigs, seeds, stones, whatever we found to build a beautiful mandala, there may be one large or a few different ones, gently guiding the process whilst also going with the flow and allowing the Art to emerge from whatever nature gifts us.

Nicola McCarthy is an artist and yoga teacher from Skibbereen, a graduate of Limerick School of Art and Design, recently returned from 25 years in San Francisco, where she grew her art and developed her yoga & meditation practice. Nicola’s fine art has been exhibited widely, a muralist, set painter and workshop facilitator. Being a yoga teacher enables her to add a deeper layer of richness to her workshops, loving guiding others to connect to the joy of Being through art, nature and yoga.
