Bill Whelan, Zoe Conway & John McIntyre

Due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 crisis, we have put all ticket sales on hold until further notice. If you would like to be notified when this concert is on sale, please click the 'Notify Me' button.

Renowned composer, producer and arranger Bill Whelan is probably best known for composing Riverdance for which he won the 1997 Grammy Award for “Best Musical Show Album”.

We are delighted that he has chosen Ballymaloe Grainstore for one of his rare live performances, and particularly that he will share the stage with his good friends [and ours], fiddler Zoe Conway and her husband, guitarist John McIntyre.

Bill’s work with Irish traditional music and musicians has occupied much of his time since 1980 when he was the pianist for the legendary Planxty. Those roots are reflected in his friendship with Zoe and John who the BBC called “simply one of the best folk duos on the planet”.
